Virtual Ventures is so much more than just a website. Over time, it’s becoming a true creative home for all the different parts of my making life: crochet, pattern ideas, KDP books, digital downloads, laser engraving, product photography, and the slow build of a handmade shop.

The website itself is important, of course, but it is really only the shelf. The real story is what actually goes on the shelf.

A Place for Mismatched Creative Paths

Some creative ideas start with a skein of yarn. Some start in the pages of a notebook. Others start with a quick photo, a new tool, a test piece, or a tiny detail that might become useful down the road.

Virtual Ventures gives all of those different ideas a single place to belong. Instead of keeping each project tucked away in its own isolated corner, this site brings them all together into one warm, useful, creative space.

The Main Branches of the Brand

Right now, Virtual Ventures is growing around a few core branches:

• Crochet Patterns & Archives: Tracking my past makes and developing new designs.
• KDP Books: Including my specialised crochet and knitting planners.
• Digital Downloads: Making printables and patterns available for Etsy or the website shop.
• Laser Engraving: Crafting custom labels, tags, stands, and gifts.
• Product Photography: Using my new stage for cosy, styled craft photos.
• The Blog & Future Streams: Documenting the journey and eventually hosting hands-only Crochet & Chatter sessions.

This isn’t just about launching one tiny product idea. It’s about building a whole creative world, piece by piece.

Why the Blog Matters

The blog is what gives all of this a voice. It’s the space where I can show old crochet projects, explain new concepts, document pattern development, share KDP updates, and make the brand feel alive before every single product is officially ready for sale.

A shop page can show someone what is for sale, but a blog shows them why it exists. To me, that matters immensely for handmade work.

A Slow Build is Still Progress

I’m intentionally building Virtual Ventures with a lot of care. Between designing pages, updating books, improving photos, writing patterns, testing products, and preparing a shop, it can easily start to feel like a lot. Because, frankly, it is a lot!

But I remind myself that it doesn’t all need to happen at once. My roadmap is simple:

1. Build the website foundations.
2. Start the blog.
3. Photograph past projects.
4. Improve the KDP book branding.
5. Create better pattern and product photos.
6. Add shop listings as they are ready.
7. Grow into videos, tutorials, and Crochet & Chatter later.

There is no massive cannon launch required here. Just steady, quiet making.

The Heart of the Project

At its core, Virtual Ventures is about creativity with a practical purpose. It’s about useful planners, clear crochet patterns, thoughtful photos, handmade details, digital files, and cosy branding. It’s a shop that grows honestly, instead of pretending to be completely finished overnight.

That is exactly what Virtual Ventures is becoming: a creative workshop with a blog attached, or maybe a blog with a workshop hiding behind it. Either way, you can absolutely guarantee there will be yarn.
