One of the very first book-style products connected to Virtual Ventures is my Project Planner: For Crochet & Knitting. It originally launched as a physical paperback through Amazon KDP back on 15 January 2026.

Right now, the book is officially published under Sulprax Studio, but my long-term plan is to bring all my future books and creative products much closer to the Virtual Ventures name and style.

This little 80-page planner is designed specifically for keeping track of crochet and knitting notes, yarn details, hook or needle sizes, project progress, pattern tweaks, and future ideas. It might not be the final form of the Virtual Ventures book world, but it is a massive and important beginning for me.

Why a Project Planner?

If you are a maker, you already know that crochet and knitting projects can get messy fast. One minute you have a neat ball of yarn and a lovely, organised plan. The next minute, you’re drowning in different hook sizes, half-written notes on scrap paper, stray yarn labels, and a mysterious project bag that seems to have swallowed reality.

A planner gives all of that beautiful chaos somewhere to go. It’s a dedicated space to track project names, yarn details, hook or needle sizes, pattern notes, and any changes you made along the way. It’s also great for jotting down gift ideas and future makes. For anyone who creates a lot, having those notes in one place matters immensely.

Why KDP?

Using Amazon KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) has been a game-changer. It makes it possible to create a physical paperback without needing to order a massive, expensive box of books upfront. That is so useful for a small creative brand because it lets the idea exist as a real, tangible book while the business is still growing.

It also opens the door to so many future possibilities, such as specialised crochet planners, full pattern books, themed collections, printable craft journals, and seasonal making books. This first planner is truly the seed for everything else.

Why I Want to Redesign It

Even though the planner already exists and I’m proud of it, I really want future versions to feel more aligned with the Virtual Ventures brand. This current version was a vital first step. It got the idea out of my head and turned it into a real book instead of leaving it trapped in a notebook.

But now that Virtual Ventures is finding its identity with a warmer, cosy coffee-and-cream style, I want the planner’s cover and aesthetic to match. I want it to feel like it belongs to the same creative world as the website, blog, gallery, and future pattern books.

Because of that, the next version will likely feature warmer colours, softer handmade styling, a clearer brand connection, and better product photos, especially once my new photo stage is ready. I might even release a matching printable or digital version later down the line. The goal isn’t to pretend this first version never happened. It’s just about letting it grow up alongside the brand.

The Bigger Plan

This planner isn’t just a single, standalone product to me. It’s a stepping stone toward building a full creative bookshelf for Virtual Ventures. The dream is to create a whole library of books and digital files that help makers plan, organise, create, and truly enjoy their crafts.

Whether those turn out to be practical trackers, cosy pattern collections, or downloadable printables, the most important thing is that they feel useful, cosy, and connected.

A Small Beginning

Every creative business has to start somewhere, and for Virtual Ventures, this planner is one of those essential early bricks in the path. It will definitely be updated, reskinned, improved, re-photographed, and eventually joined by a lot more books.

But the most exciting part? It already exists in the world, and that counts for so much. A finished thing is always better than a perfect idea that never actually leaves your notebook.
